You will be training on a site working under the Mining and Quarrying Act, carrying out the tasks relevant to the specified equipment and working with dust suppression.
Dedicated one-on-one bulk water truck training which includes real-time operation experience of operating a purpose-built vehicle.
WHO CAN UNDERTAKE THIS COURSE?
Both experienced and inexperienced operators of large vehicles and/or machinery can take the course.
You must be 18 years of age and hold a current driver’s licence (a minimum of a code 10 drivers license )

COURSE OUTLINE
This course has been created to provide you with an understanding and hands-on practical experience in the operation of a bulk water truck.
You will be provided with your own trainer and truck and will be operating on an active site where you will be assisting with the loading, transporting and distribution of bulk water, working under the CETA.
We take you through your training in a vehicle not dissimilar to that you would use in the day to day operations of bulk water distribution. This will allow you to get the feel of operating a vehicle larger than you are used to and to get familiar with all aspects of the operation without being overwhelmed.
You will gain practical and theoretical knowledge of the following and more besides:
- How to pre-check of the vehicle – when operating machinery it is important to check the machine for any defects or issues
- Knowledge of truck interior and the function of all the equipment
- Horn signalling – used to signal when entering and leaving the sites
- Positive radio communications
- Mine site safety protocols with regards to machinery operations
- Driving the vehicle empty and fully loaded
- Driving on site with other machinery
- Emergency braking
- Controlling the truck in slippery conditions
- Reversing up to equipment for loading and unloading
- Correct distribution techniques
- Completion of production forms
- Tagging out of equipment

Our Training bulk water truck training course runs at our Ipswich site where you will be working under the Mining and Quarry Act.
If combined with the dump truck course, the time spent in either machine may be used towards “time in seat” due to the fact that both machines you will be operating are CAT 773’s, so you will be getting driving experience no matter which truck you are in.
