COURSE DESCRIPTION:

The course consists of a coherent and significant set of competencies required to performed duties of an Excavator Operator in the construction field. High levels of competence are included in this course as per the demand of industry, which will enable learners to become immediately productive as when they enter the labour market.
This course is designed to provide the knowledge, skills and attitudes of an individual to become competent as an excavator operator in accordance with industry standard. Upon completion of this course the graduates will be able to work in the construction industry where they can perform basic maintenance of excavator, Operation of excavator, loading and unloading of machine as per the requirement of industry. The course will also prepare the graduates to comply with regulatory and organizational requirements for practicing Occupational Health and Safety procedures.

To obtain the qualification of Heavy Earth Moving Equipment Operator (Excavator) all modules and learning outcomes prescribed for this qualification must be achieved.

Skills are attained at the excavator training centre at minimal excavator course fees R5,000 and operators earn an average salary of R15000 per month inc. allowances

Upon completion of all the training modules of Heavy Earth Moving Equipment Operation (Excavator) course, the trainee will be able to do the following:
· Apply safety rules and regulation in the excavation field

· Perform pre and post operation checks in machine

· Perform minor maintenance of machine

· Carryout excavation works and loading and unloading of machine

Heavy equipment vary from the the portable and mobile lighter equipment
to extreme heavy equipment, many with a precise description of their
functions. Any individual or business associated or involved in the
construction industry, from small to large sometimes need Heavy
Equipment Operator Training, for equipment like – motor graders,
bobcats,backhoes, scrapers, bulldozers, front-end loaders excavators to
dump trucks. However, because operators need the knowledge and the skill
to operate these and many other types of equipment and in order to
confidently address many challenges, the driver /operator need a quality
educational training program Driver Training We conduct training
courses of the highest level.

There is theory and a
practical training. Tests are completed at the end of the theory
session. This test can either be written or verbal for those with
difficulty in reading and writing. We provide driver training at the
best rates, to the standards required by the Regulations of the
Occupational Health and Safety Act of 1994 (OHSA). Successful candidates
receive a Certificate of Competency in compliance with the Act and its
administration by the Department of Manpower. Our Instructors are
registered and approved by the Department of Manpower and accredited
with the South African Institute of Materials Handling to carry out
training and testing. All of our training is in compliance with the OHS
(MOS) Act Regulation 18 Sub regulation 11 of the Driven Machinery
Regulation.
