Motor grader, or road grader, is a self-propelled earthmoving machine with an adjustable blade between the front and rear axle. The blade is most commonly used for cutting, spreading and levelling of material. MULANI’s short skills grader training course has been developed for the benefit of novices and experienced operators who may be expected to do grading operations while performing their daily duties in the construction and earthmoving plant industries. Skills are attained at the grader training centre at minimal grader course fees and grader driver salary is between R12000 - R27000 month. .

Assessment methods
We conduct a formative theoretical assessment at the beginning of the course to gauge the learner’s initial understanding (novices only). At the end of the training, a summative theoretical and practical application assessment is conducted, to find if the learner is competent; if not, additional developmental areas are identified and suggested.
