The basic components that make up the backhoe include

first and foremost its recommendable to always check your operator manual for whatever piece of heavy equipment you need to operate, excavator certificate, since you going to have individual checklist for your equipment.

Pre operation inspection is the most piece of work of your day you need to daily before you start the operation of the excavator. So you don’t need to overlook the walk around of the machine.

The main aim of a pre-op inspection to look for damage, leaks..

You start from the driver cabin looking for obvious broken glasses, mirror etc.

Most important you look for leaks at the undercarriage so you look at the idlers in front, the final drive in the front, underneath the excavator, hydraulic lines & cylinders and make sure all compartments are sealed.

You have to look at the roller, trackpads/shoe(bend/broken), sprocket, swing or table for wear and damage

you need check loose or missing bolts and trackpad undercarriage and you should take note of the track sag whether its tight or loose.

basic controls

on your right hand you have a the throttle and boom & bucket joy stick control ie to raise and lower the boom, close and open the bucket.

on your left hand you have the stick & swing joystick control ie it the raises and lowers the stick which is attached to the boom and swing is used to move the cabin in 360 degrees.

The track pedals in front the operator are used to drive the machine forward and back wardrobes before you park the machine you need to clear the dirty and debris of the machine tracks and put the bucket flat on the ground and can also grease it later

then after shutting a machine, you make a walk round to check for obvious damage, leaks on the machine
